COMPANY

An internship abroad as part of vocational training is a unique experience for apprentices. The European Union therefore supports apprentices financially with the "Erasmus+" program to make this opportunity easier to realize. 

All apprentices from Styrian companies can take part.

In addition to improving language skills and intercultural competencies, the focus is also on the professional working context.

We, the Steirische Volkswirtschaftliche Gesellschaft (STVG) as the project supervising organization of "Young Styrians GO Europe!" (YSGE), support the young people - in coordination with our official project partners:

  • Styrian Provincial Government, Department 9 - Culture, Europe, External Relations

  • LOGO Jugendmanagement GmbH

THE OPTIONS

Your company can choose between two options:

 

1) Internship as advertised:

We organize internships in other countries for which young people can apply - please see our current calls for applications or contact Martin Kahr at youngstyrians@stvg.com .

2) Individually organized internship:

The training company has a location in another European country, or there is another company abroad with which to work? Then we offer to organize the financial support for the internship abroad with the Austrian National Agency Erasmus+ Education.

THE BENEFIT

Apprentices benefit from an internship abroad in several ways:

  • Promoting independence and autonomy

  • Strengthening social and communication skills in dealing with superiors, colleagues and customers

  • Insight into working methods outside the usual working environment

  • Possible expansion of the area of activity

  • Higher qualification in the CV

  • Expansion of foreign language skills and intercultural competencies

  • Experience everyday business and company life in the internship country

 

The advantages for the company are manifold:

  • Getting to know new working methods and processes

  • Strengthening internationalization strategies for the company

  • Development of your international relations staff

  • Improved foreign language skills of employees

  • Expanding your own corporate culture

  • Making apprentice recruitment more attractive

  • The intern abroad serves as a role model for other apprentices to also gain international experience through an internship abroad

Your company has the option of applying for and receiving the lost apprenticeship compensation for apprentices during the internship period from the Styrian Economic Chamber's Department for Subsidies. For your apprentice, you can also apply for an apprentice bonus of currently € 15.00 per day of stay, which the trainee abroad, your apprentice, will then receive. We will support you in this.

OUR SUPPORT

The YSGE project team offers a wide range of support. This includes:

  • Preparation workshops for apprentices, also available online

  • Tips for finding an internship, assistance in communicating with companies

  • Tips for finding accommodation

  • Assistance with the organizational effort required for project participation (and the funding application): We handle the application and reporting for Erasmus+ individual mobilities of Guideline 1 - Trainers, apprentices and parents provide the documents required from the participants in good time

  • Financial management of approved Erasmus+ individual mobilities under Guideline 1

  • Communication and coordination with the Austrian National Agency Erasmus+ Education

  • Ongoing support before, during and after the internship abroad
